Ozzie's Story
Attended Arlington Park 6th grade when it was new school 57/58; then on to Linmoor when it opened in 58/59 and then offered a choice between Linmoor and McKinley for 9th (59-60)I chose McKinley until '63 when we moved my sr. yr. to Kentucky and I graduated there from Berea College Foundation School in '64- on to the Navy for 7 years; then the Post Office for 22 starting with Reno, NV; then to Laramie WY (where I met my wife, a postal worker) and here to Joplin MO where I took an early out in '92 - have been substitute teaching and playing landlord since. Ethel, my wife, retired from post office in '04.
Navy years included boot camp and service in San Diego, Mine Div. 72 staff aboard USS Firm (MSO-444); then TAR service at NAS Los Alamitos.
While in Arlington Park, I attended Village Park Methodist Church. Jerry and April Walker also attended that church but the majority of our youth group attended Mifflin like Wendel McCurdy and Tom and Rick Croley and Judy Hicks (she married Wendel).

rried current wife in Laramie, '84 - no kids - we each had two already from previous liasons. We have 7 grandchildren and a new one due in December.
SO NOW - just the pooches and us and some grandkids once in again. We go to the gym in the mornings; could afford to eat better and we work on that.
We like to travel; like home more as each year passes. I've always liked my cars - we have several of those including some oldies - one representing my last year of school - a 64 Studebaker V-8, factory 4-speed. We also have Ethel's grandmother's 51 Chevy sport coupe that she purchased new in Laramie, WY in early 1952.
Sadly, part of this great story ended on October 13, 2011 when Ethel died from complications from leukemia; namely pneumonia. This has changed my life quite a bit and I've basically taken a couple years off classmates to deal with everything that needs to be dealt with. If you've been through it, and we all will, it's more than just putting your love of your life in a grave plot.
